It was my second trip to the Balkans. My first trip was a tour of ex-Yugoslavia in 2008. So it was nice to be back in the region. On this trip we visited Dubrovnik, Mostar and some villages in Bosnia and Perast and Kotor in Montenegro.

One surprise of the trip was on the island of Lokrum, just off the coast of Dubrovnik. I spotted some rabbits which I had to take a photo of. Somehow, inching towards them, keeping as quiet as I could and laying low I managed to snap this picture.

As part of a photography class I was doing I had to learn to take photos of colour. So I focused on the red tiled roofs of Dubrovnik. Most people include the blue sea but I wanted to focus on the red roofs. 

Oh... and the Games of Thrones jokes were endless...

We got back to the hotel just after midnight. I went out of the balcony and saw this beautiful view.

We were on our way to Mostar when we stopped at this village. I loved the Mosque nestled amongst the green hills.

The Dervish's house at Blagaj was really very unique and has to be one of Europe's best kept secrets.

Our driver in Croatia took us to this resort on the way to the airport. It was a resort for Yugoslav officials that was bombed during the war between Serbs and Croats. Since then it has not been reconstructed despite it being very close to Dubrovnik, and therefore in a very touristic area. The potential in there though if they wish to rebuild this.

In the evening we went for a drink around Dubrovnik's old town. A band was playing in the square outside the bar. Tourists were sipping the drinks as they listened to the music.
