Greek Night in Geneva

Greek Night was organised by Geneva’s Greek community just before the city was about to vacate for the Christmas holidays. I joined my Greek friends there around midnight when I knew the party would be in full swing. Greeks do no start parties early and to Greeks midnight is the equivalent of early evening so midnight seemed the ideal time to go.
I was reluctant at first as I imagined it would be more akin to a Big Fat Greek Wedding with grannies eating cakes and speaking in hushed tones. I could not have been more wrong. It was like a party, with people drinking and dancing to Greek pop hits. And of course as the night wore on they were dancing the Sirtaki, which is of course the old party classic.

For any Greeks moving to Geneva, you can find the association address here: http://www.genevagreeks.ch/
